Join us for the second of two concerts of historical Scottish music, performed in the 1797 ballroom of Glasgow’s Sloans Bar, featuring an exciting collaboration between trad and early music performers.
Party like it’s 1797! Bring your dancing shoes for this revival and reimagining of the 18th-century dance band, featuring dances and music by the Black British composer, writer and abolitionist Ignatius Sancho (c. 1729-1780), alongside tunes by Scottish female composers Catherine White (fl. 1800), Isabella Scott (1786-1838) and Sophia Parker. After a concert performance, we will lay out the ballroom for an 18th-century ceilidh, featuring Sancho’s own country dances.
Tickets (£20, £10 concessions) available HERE
